Summer Beauty Essentials

Whether you’re jetting away or like me your just wishing for Summer to be here, I’ve listed my top beauty essentials from illuminators to tan maximizers.

I love this time of year when it’s in the middle of Spring and you can start to feel the warmer air and be able to wear brighter clothes and glowy makeup. Of course haircare is just as important in the Summer and to keep my golden locks shiny and nourished, you can’t beat organic shampoo*. So today I’ve listed my top products that I love using throughout summer and I just think these are beauty staples that need to be in your beach bags. So grab a cuppa and read on…

A good eyeshadow palette to use throughout the summer, is a must for creating golden goddess looks especially my personal favourite rose gold and warm tones. The Naked Heat palette launched last year and I never put it down all summer. It was my go-to on holiday but it even saw me through the autumn months too with the brown neutral colours. Another favourite is the Sweet Peach palette that has such a gorgeous array of peaches, pinks, bronzes and even purple shades. You can create so many looks with this and it still smells of peaches a year later. I’d say this is definitely a Spring-Summer kinda product.

So I dunno about you but Summer means tan tan tan. Although my readers know how much I love self tan, I do try to make the most of sunbathing when I can abroad or in the UK. A duty free purchase I picked up on the way to Ibiza was this Tan Maximizer. Not only does it smell amazing, it actually works at prolonging your tan. If you love the smell of palma violets you need to pick this up. Every night on holiday I used this as an aftersun and I can honestly say all July and August my natural tan didn’t budge at all.

But if you do want to fake it, the Summer Revived Body Lotion was a must-have for me last year. This gradual tan works great on fair to medium skin to give you that natural bronzed glow. I’ve never once woke up with streaks or white marks, it just left me with an overall bronze about a shade darker than I usually am. Like all gradual tans, the more you use it the darker you’d go but this honestly won’t make you look orange!

If you want that sheer glow I’d also recommend my current favourite product: Flawless Filter. It sure does give you that flawless look whilst looking effortless, with the light coverage. Another product I’m currently loving and will be sure to use all this summer is the Flash Illuminator. This is my first purchase from the Estee Edit by Estee Lauder. This silky liquid highlighter is a gorgeous golden shade that looks pretty on top of your foundation and also across your collar and chest bones. A top tip could be wearing some on your legs too for an instant golden glow!

Speaking of glow, moving onto skincare I always reach for my Glow Tonic in the warmer months. This does miracles for my complexion and if you want that fresh-faced look without makeup, use this.. My other top skincare product has to be the Coconut Oil Night Cream. This keeps my skin hydrated but is also really nourishing on days when you’ve been out in the sun or you may have sunburn so need something gentle.

I say this all year round but in those hot days when you need your makeup to last, I swear by a Makeup Setting Spray especially from Urban Decay. Its foolproof and you really notice the difference in your makeup when you don’t put this on.  Last but not least another product that stays put is the Troublemaker mascara. This lasts alllll day, its waterproof and doesn’t crumble like other mascaras. I love the finished look with this mascara and a plus for me is you don’t get those prints under your eyes like others tend to do. Finally my fave blush to wear at the moment still is Galifornia. This golden rose blush compliments your tan and its another product that works all year round.

So that’s my must have Summer beauty essentials. I’m sure you’ll agree there are lots to choose and I could have easily of mentioned a lot more in here. And its only April so by the time its mid Summer there’s probably more products I’m loving so make sure you keep checking back for my monthly favourites and beauty reviews.
