My favourite go-to products from Makeup Revolution.
As an avid fan of Makeup Revolution, it dawned on recently me that I’ve never done a dedicated blog post showcasing a full face of their products. So here we are! My readers will know how much I love this beauty brand.
I’ve used Makeup Revolution for years since they began I believe. I’ve tried everything from their blushers to highlighters to eyeshadow palettes and brow gel. I love how affordable they are, and they certainly keep up with the current trends. I mean their dupes of other well-known beauty brands, enough said really.
So today’s post I’m covering my current go-to base products from the brand. Including two foundations, a primer, concealer and highlighter. Here goes…
Base Products
Before applying foundation, my go-to primer at the moment is the Beam Dream Illuminating Primer at £6. This is a pink iridescent primer that not only smells amazing but adds a perfect glow to the skin. It looks good on its own for a brightening cream or apply under for foundation for a dewy finish.
First up we have the foundations. You may be thinking why two, but at the moment I’ve been switching between them both depending on whether I’m at work or not. So for an everyday foundation, I use the Fast Base Stick Foundation in the shade F6. This is a bargain for £5.99 and a little goes a long way. This a light-medium coverage and suits my skin tone really well. It’s a little light if I have fake tan on but love how easy it applies. The application is creamy and lasts all day.
For weekends and night-time makeup, I go for the Conceal & Hydrate Foundation in the shade F11 (£9). This is a bit darker than the other but it’s perfect for when I have tan on. This foundation applies perfectly and gives a subtle glow to my skin. It’s full coverage but doesn’t look too matte or cakey, so if you’re after something in between give this a go. Plus the Hylauronic acid keeps your skin hydrated. Ideal for combination skin if you ask me.
L-R: Fast Base, Primer, Concealer, Conceal & Hydrate, Molten Glow
Next up we have of course the concealer. To team up with the Conceal & Hydrate foundation, I also use concealer from the same range. The Conceal & Hydrate Concealer is definitely one of my favourites to date. I use shade C2 which is very light but I love how it hides my dark circles and brightens around my cheeks. It hides imperfections and is really blendable. I can’t fault it at all for £4.99!
Who doesn’t love a liquid highlighter?! The Molten Body Glow Liquid Illuminator retails at £15 and adds a beautiful sparkly glow for your face and body. I got the shade Gold and use this on my cheek bones, forehead and neck. As you can see the bottle is huge and will last me ages! I can’t wait to eventually use it on holiday to add a shimmer to a natural tan.
Powders & Eyeshadow
To finish my look I’ve selected a trio palette from Makeup Revolution which is ideal for on the go! The CompleXXion Gravitate Face Palette features a bronzer, blusher and highlighter for just £18. It reminds me of the Urban Decay Naked palette and is just as good! Each powder is very blend-able and creates the perfect contour. I love the highlighter specifically.
Finally you need an eye look too right!? One of my favourite palettes is the Soph Extra Spice at just £10. All those shades, bargain! I featured this one as it’s perfect for this time of year when you’re reintroducing brighter shades. For my makeup look below I used the brown tones for a subtle look.
I love Makeup Revolution’s eye products too especially their eyeliner and brow gel so let me know if you’d like a review on those too.
