With my hair crying out for some fresh highlights I’d do anything to keep these blonde locks looking their best. I haven’t had my hair coloured since the middle of October and with my next hair appointment looking to be in 2 months time I need ways to keep my hair looking the best it can. So these products all the way from Australia arrived at just the right time!
As my readers know I’ve tried plenty of haircare products over the years. Anything aimed for blondes and I’m already sold. So when I read the descriptions of this shampoo and conditioner having a natural toner, I was intrigued to see how it would work.
I’ve tried quite strong purple toners in the last year through the UK lockdowns to keep my blonde locks from looking yellow and brassy. But I don’t think I’ve tried a brand that is fully natural with 0 harsh chemicals. There’s literally nothing synthetic about it. Plus it’s vegan friendly and cruelty-free. So let’s see how I got on…
Hello Hair describes this duo as the hydration and tone your hair deserves. Packed with natural ingredients! Its actually suitable for all hair types with the added ingredient of a violet toner to neutralise brassy yellow colours. Plus its safe on colour-treated, chemically-treated and human hair extensions.
First Impressions
I love the packaging firstly. Its a little different to other brands I’ve tried and I think it definitely stands out if you saw it on the shelf in the supermarket. I’ve used this a handful of times now, with every other wash for a thorough review. On first impressions the smell was really nice, I can’t pinpoint exactly the scent but it was lovely.
From the first use, I liked the fact that the toner didn’t stain my hands or skin at all, so you can easily use the duo while bathing and showering. The texture is quite oily too which made me think it’s jam-packed with natural ingredients. You don’t usually get that with normal products.
After drying my hair and brushing I noticed my hair felt less tangled which is always a bonus. Once my hair was fully dry it felt really soft so certainly felt more nourished. My blonde hair definitely looked icier and not as yellow after just one use.
Overall Thoughts of Hello Hair
I’d say I’ve used these two about 5 times now. Each time I’ve kept the shampoo and conditioner on my hair for around 2-3 minutes. I think that’s all I need but you could keep it on for longer if you wanted to. My hair does feel really nice and the toner has enhanced with highlights towards my roots more.
I think normally toners seem to miss the key ingredients for nourishing hair as it tones but this seems to really cover it. What I’m meaning is, this seems to have the perfect combination of what you’d expect haircare to do on the daily but with a gentle toner. A great combination if you ask me. The duo is a little pricy at $55 but as a treat – why not! I’ll definitely be picking up another once this runs out.
Tip: Hello Hair recommends that the results will vary depending on the blonde tones in your hair. Also how often you use the duo and how long you keep it on for.
