Any time of the year, I enjoy a cocktail or two, whether that be on holiday around the pool or in a swanky city bar. The sweeter the better for me! My favourite personal favourite is a strawberry daiquiri but I don’t think there’s any I don’t like. If you’re like me, I usually work my way through the cocktail menu.
Funkin Cocktails
So now it’s getting into Autumn (which by the way I’m here for it!) you may not be going out as much. So if you fancy a cocktail at home or just one on the go then that’s where Funkin Cocktails steps in.
A few weeks ago they contacted me and asked if I’d like to try their Nitro Cans. Of course, I said yes! I’d actually tried their cocktails before but only the strawberry daiquiri version (obviously) so I was keen to see how the others matched up.
Cocktails on the go
And I had the perfect opportunity to try them out too at camping! We’d pitched up for the weekend at the Lake District in early September and the weather was glorious. These cocktails were perfect in the sun and after a long day hiking!
When we got to the top of Helvellyn we all enjoyed a cocktail each, ready for the hike back down.
I didn’t realise how much of a range they actually do! So Funkin does pre-made cocktails, purees, mixers, syrups and even party packs. For on-the-go, like we were, I’d recommend their ready to drink cocktail cans.
The difference with these cans is they use nitro. This means the nitro bubbles are 100 times smaller and longer lasting than CO2 bubbles which means a smooth velvety feel. This means the cocktail tastes just like it’s been made in a bar! But at a fraction of the cost.
If you’re like us and you are taking them to a party or weekend away then you can drink straight from the can! if you want your drink to feel even more than a cocktail, then pour it into your favourite cocktail glass and add your selected garnish.

We sat at the top of Helvellyn and had one each. I went for the Peach on the Beach. This was a lovely take on sex on the beach but you could really taste the peach this time. Everyone loved each one! Bob had the strawberry daiquiri and said if it was given to him in a glass he wouldn’t have known it was from a can it tasted like-for-like.
When we were looking more through their website I noticed they now do aperol spritz. Well, I know what I’ll be trying next! I love that they’ve advertised it as: why ‘when in Rome’ now you can at home. I said to Bob straight away we’ll have to get these for our next house party!
