Autumn break at Newton Hall Garden Rooms

Nestled in the Northumbrian countryside and situated right next door to Newton Hall and a short drive to the sea. The Cabin Walk Garden Rooms is the ultimate retreat for couples and families. I was very fortunate with this opportunity and it came around at such the right time. Since our amazing holiday in Croatia, we have been looking at planning a small break for Autumn. So when I heard about this gorgeous modern cabin I said yes instantly! I love a night away with a hot tub so this ticked all the boxes for me straight away.

So grab a cuppa and find out more about our stay and also the cuisine we had at The Joiners Arms…

Newton Hall Garden Room 21

Check-in was a breeze as we got given our keys and headed down the pebble path to our room. We stayed in cabin 21 which is described as one of the ultimate Garden Rooms. This is due to the added living room area and kitchenette which was a nice touch!

The whole room gave off such as cosy ambience and the attention to detail of the interior was just so instagramable! The perfect blend of rustic and modern.

There are 27 rooms to choose from which house 2-6 people so it’s ideal for everyone, plus its dog friendly!

They describe every cabin as a ‘dynamic relationship between nature and quality design’ and I completely agree. I loved the wooden walls and the bathroom was just enviable. I was just obsessed with the unique sink. Everything was immaculate as you’d imagine! Was definitely different to the usual log cabins I’d stayed in.

So outside you’ll find your own private garden with outdoor seating, a wooden hot tub and a fire pit. Once it got dark, setting that fire alight felt so cosy and romantic! We wished we’d brought marshmallows for the fire!

Later in the evening, we decided to sit outside in the hot tub and move the TV around so you could watch it from here. Top tip if you book this room! We ended up watching 3 films that night with lots of food and drink. I definitely needed to switch off and unwind for the night.

The Joiners Arms Food

We decided to order from The Joiners Arms for dinner. Simply check out what you fancy in the menu provided and call the restaurant. We basically got a takeaway delivered which is a good option. We opted for a pizza and a cheese board to share which was delicious.

You have breakfast the next day included! When checking in, you have the option for a full English breakfast at The Joiners Arms or to have it delivered. We decided to have it delivered and asked for bacon sandwiches and all of this arrived!

Before we checked in we were also gifted lunch. The Joiners Arms is a couple of minute’s drive from the cabins so not far at all. It’s a gorgeous countryside pub that felt warm and cosy as soon as you walked in.

The menu had plenty of choices from steaks to homemade pies and pizzas. I went for the woodland mushroom chicken and Bob got the crab burger. Both were delicious. It was raining when we arrived so this warm chicken dinner was just what I needed! We of course couldn’t forget dessert!

We shared a hot sticky toffee pudding with a generous amount of sauce and vanilla ice cream. Bob got a large latte and I got this magical hot chocolate with a small brownie. Yum!

Thank you, Newton Hall and The Joiners Arms for a lovely autumn break! We felt recuperated and refreshed. I’d definitely stay again and hope to visit the beach next time when the weather is nicer!
