Want to see how the world parties?
Spain
Spain is a popular destination for UK tourists but what you didn’t know is, it houses three of the top festivals in the world that see hundreds of thousands of people visit each year. So you’ve heard of a food fight but this is on another level. The La Tomatina Festival takes place at the end of August and it’s basically a huge food party with tomatoes. Sounds fun right? If your into something a lot more extreme, the country also does a Running of the bulls Festival at the beginning of July. This basically where men run away from bulls while thousands of people watch – if that’s your kind of thing! Would you watch or participate?! Anyway if music and dance is your short of thing they also host the world-famous Benicassim Festival in mid July ever year. This see’s international music artists like The Killers, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Liam Gallagher.
Canary Islands

You’ve heard the term Carnival but you’ve seen nothing unless you’ve visited the popular festival in the Canary Islands. The Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival happens every year in February to celebrate music, life and colour. Each year they pick a theme such as magic and fantastic creatures to under the sea. It looks like a magic place to go – Cheap Tenerife Holidays 2018/2019.
Croatia

Arguably this is the no.1 destination for summer music festivals. The rave island has three popular festivals including Hideout Festival – at the end of June, Defected – 9 – 14 August and Fresh Island in mid July. These festivals contain worldwide DJs covering House, Dance and R&B music. I’ve always wanted to go to Hideout – definitely on my bucket list for next year.
Mexico – Cancun
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ll of heard of Spring Break in America. Well one festival in particular is the Inception Festival. This 30 day and night festival showcasing worldwide talent such as Afrojack and Lil Wayne across Cancun’s hottest resorts and clubs. They call this festival the ‘dreamland’ so if you ever fancy popping over to Mexico – go during March.
Brussels – Belgium

And finally brussels have a Summer Festival every mid August at the Place des Palais and Mont des Arts. This is a music and culture festival with a lot of indie or alternative music.
