My favourite beauty items

So grab a cuppa and let’s discuss my favourite items from skincare to haircare and makeup!

Go-to Skincare picks

First up is the products I’ve been using throughout the year to keep my skin feeling soft and radiant. I absolutely love Pixi Skintreats Peel & Polish. Once I’ve removed my makeup I use this cleaner to scrub away any leftover. It’s a creamy cleanser with sugar extracts for gentle exfoliation. My skin instantly feels smoother and radiant. Perfect before you apply makeup too!

My go-to night cream has to be It Cosmetics Confidence In Your Beauty Sleep . First of all this pillow cream smells amazing. The burst of lavender is beautiful and leaves my skin feeling plump. I’ll wake up and my skin looks brighter and fresh.

Another masque that I keep reaching for is Dermalogica‘s Hydro Masque Exfoliant. As the name suggests, this mask is perfect if you want a quick face mask that soaks in and instantly hydrates your skin. As I’m combination I use this when my face is feeling dry and the little spheres are very satisfying to watch as they absorb into the skin.

As I didn’t go away at all in 2022, I used my trusted Dove Visible Glow to keep me looking tanned. I’ve used this tan for years on and off and I don’t think I’ve raved about it on here as much as I should… This gradual lotion gives me a subtle glow with no streaks and washes off easily.

Another Pixi product I began using in 2022 as well was their DetoxifEYE. These eye patches are perfect for a quick pamper. Smothered in cucumber and Hyaluronic acid, the patches instantly make my skin all nourished and eases puffiness around the eyes. I rub in the excess gel around my face and my skin instantly feels plumper.

Haircare favourites

As anyone and everyone will agree, our hair was totally neglected in 2022. I only had two hair appointments last year so I needed products I could use in the meantime. This included keeping my blonde looking fresh and helping it to grow and keep nourished.

So first up and possibly my favourite item I discovered last year is the Fanola No Yellow Shampoo. Wow let me tell you this works! I’ve tried many purple shampoos but this by far is my favourite. It’s super strong so wearing gloves is essential to avoid any skin staining.

I keep the shampoo in my hair for around 5 minutes and my hair instantly looks much more of a platinum blonde and silvery. It’s perfect in-between hair colourings. I only use this once or twice a month as it’s a little messy and you can’t do it while bathing/ showering. But the results last a while anyway. Plus it’s super affordable for 1litre for around £10!

I actually purchased the Olaplex no3 & no6 the year before, but used it more often in 2022. No6 is a leave-in treatment which I wait a good 30 minutes before washing. You can keep it in overnight if you like. This Bond Smoother nourishes and hydrates your hair.

The no3 I use on towel-dried hair prior to drying and this helps to repair and strengthen. I’ve noticed my hair feels super soft and thicker when I use this so ideal when you want a curly blowdry. I can see why most people pair these together. The duo is great to keep your hair in tip-top condition between appointments. It’s a little pricey but worth it.

Cosmetic favourites

This wouldn’t be a beauty post without some makeup items I enjoyed using in 2022. Although like most, I didn’t wear a lot last year. Mainly with not going out much and wearing masks of course.

As my readers know I don’t wear false lashes and my favourite go-to mascara at the moment is Too Faced Better Than Sex. It’s been on my wish list for a while but this mascara is amazing. This is my third one now and I love how long and thick my lashes look. I totally don’t need false lashes when I wear this. It’s not clumpy, it lengthens, thickens what more do you want in mascara!

I’ve listed three Makeup Revolution items in this post which shows how much I lvoe this brand! The quality of each and every product I’ve tried is amazing and super affordable.

With no way of getting my brows done, I purchased Makeup Revolution‘s Brow Tint in the shade Taupe and let me tell you the results are incredible. I’ve even convinced my colleagues to buy this as my brows look salon quality. You simply add the tint to your brows leave as long as desired, I’d say about 30 minutes as the tint just peals off. Your eyebrows are then ready to go without even need to add anything else. I get a good few days out of each application!

I fancied trying a new foundation and picked up Makeup Revolution‘s Conceal & Hydrate. I’d heard great things about this and loved the sound of full coverage with a hydrating formula with Hyaluronic Acid. It’s been my foundation for 2022, to be honest. The coverage is great, it gives me a really nice glowy appearance and doesn’t feel oily or dry. For £9 too it’s amazing.

And more saviours

Another pick from MR is their Conceal & Define concealer. I’ve used this for well over a year now and its the only concealer I buy, to be honest. It pairs great with the foundation or any other, to hide my dark circles and for contouring. Its creamy formula doesn’t crack like other brands and its super long-wearing.

My friends bought me the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer for my birthday last year and I love it. It’s my first official bronzer from CT and it didn’t disappoint. I got the shade medium and it creates a really nice subtle contour.

Speaking of the brand, before the UK lockdown I picked up Charlotte‘s Glowgasm Beauty Light Wand in the shade Peachgasm. This golden peach liquid blusher is perfect for a quick blush to the cheeks. The shades available also work as a highlighter too. The cushion pad makes for easy application and a little goes a long way!

Moving onto my final beauty product (hope you’re still with me) is the Rapid Lash Eyelash Enhancing Serum. This is the main reason I think as to why my lashes look and feel thicker and longer too. I apply this a couple of times a month before bed and over time I’ve noticed a huge difference. Its worth trying if you want to step away from false lashes.
