So when Pro Blo got in touch with me a while back, I jumped at the chance of trying their Curl Me barrels. I’ve seen these everywhere, and after seeing all the results I was excited to see how they’d style my hair.
In the Curl Me set you get:
- 6 CurlME Barrels. (x 2 Small, x 2 Medium x 2 Large)
- 6 Hair Clips.
- 1 Handle
- 1 Travel Bag
I’m not gonna lie I’m a novice when it comes to this sort of stuff, so I did get my hairdresser friend to help me put them in. I wanted them to be perfect and to actually see how easy they are to apply so I can do it myself.
I also received their AddMe set which includes more barrels. I’ve got thick long hair so I needed quite a few barrels so all my hair got styled. To be honest I could have done with a couple more but this depends how thick you want each section, the thicker the section the looser the curl. Something to bear in mind when you’re ordering!
You guys know how much I love well designed products and their packaging didn’t disappoint. I love the ombre effect, it seems quite good quality and the travel bag is a great idea!
So how did I get on?
The set recommends your hair should be about 80% dry, simply section your hair, blow dry that section, roll the barrel with the heat and clip it in. Once I had them all in we waited about an hour, I kind of wish we did wait longer plus we forgot to use product too (school boy error). I’d recommend washing your hair, towel drying it and then putting mouse on before applying these to keep the volume in.
Did my hair curl? To be honest not really, I don’t know if that was due to not adding hairspray or for not leaving them in long enough. I must admit my hair was really soft that day so it was quite hard to keep the hair in the barrels. I did notice the volume though, my hair seemed more bouncy and ‘flicked’.
I was expecting a little more but for my first trial with this, I’m excited to carry on using it and hopefully achieve that desired ‘Curly blowdry’ soon. I know its possible with these I’ve seen the videos so it’s all down to practice. So I guess today is more of a first impression of the Curl Me set.
To finish the look we went over my hair with my GHD classic waves to create the curly look above. I can see why Pro Blo is so popular, its a great tool for your ‘getting ready’ routine.
Have you tried Curl Me? Would you?
