My Favourite Mascaras

No Falsies here! So when you rely heavily on a good mascara – you can imagine I’ve tried a few to pick my favourites!

I know call myself a beauty blogger and I don’t even wear fake lashes?! Truth is I can’t for the life of me apply them. I wore them when I was younger ie. aged 15-18 but they would end up dangling on my lashes by the end of the night – and we know that’s never a good look. The more irritated I got trying to apply them I decided I just need a good mascara in my life.

And well that’s when the journey started. You can probably name a few brands and I’ll say YES tried that, I’ve used that. Brands I’ve used in the past are Collection, Rimmel, Lancome, YSL to name a few.

So what makes a good mascara?

For me its a product that instantly transforms not only your lashes but your face. When I’m not wearing any makeup, a mascara makes a difference for me. This means long fluffy lashes that are separated and basically give you that false lash effect.

Now, grab a cuppa as I explain why these particular mascaras have made it to the fave list.

Benefit | BAD Gal BANG If I’m being honest it took me a while to decide whether I liked Badgal Bang or not. I found the formula a little too wet at first and felt my lashes stuck together because of it. Now I’ve had it a while and its dried slightly – I love it! It’s gives me super long lashes and its very long-lasting.

Charlotte Tilbury | Legendary Lashes This was one of my first ever purchases from the brand so I was instantly impressed with the application. Legendary Lashes instantly adds volume and thickens my lashes so well. I’ve bought three of these mascaras because I loved it that much. The only downfall I would say is sometimes the product can print onto your skin. You know when you get black under your eyes? It only does it on the odd occassion but its something you definitely need to check when your passing mirrors.

Lancome | Monsieur Big I got introduced to this mascara last year and took it to Ibiza with me. Again another fab mascara that gives big dramatic lashes. I ended up buying this in the waterproof version so I can take it away with me and I can honestly say its the best waterproof mascara I’ve bought. I took it to Budapest with me and my lashes survived a wave pool and 30 degree heat – would definitely recommend.

Marc Jacobs | Velvet Noir This is hands down THE favourite out of the bunch. I’ve never seen my lashes look so long with this mascara the velvet touch effect means my lashes look fluffy and soft. I just dunno what it is compared to the other mascaras but I just love that no matter how long I have it on (which can be up to 10 hours per wear) my lashes still look as good as the moment I applied this. I definitely need to do a before and after picture with this.

Maybelline | Lash Sensational If you’re on a budget this is hands down my favourite drugstore mascara. As I mentioned earlier I’ve tried plenty of brands such as Rimmel and Barry M but Maybelline are great at mascaras generally. I think I’ve pretty much tried most of theirs but the Lash Sensational is the best! I wear this most days at work as I tend to keep my luxury mascaras for nights out and special occassions. You can guarantee this mascara won’t print or flake even hours after wear.

Urban Decay | Troublemaker Finally how could I not mention UD? I did like their Perversion mascara but this is 10 times better. I love the unique wand and even though it’s not the best mascara for volume, I love how it separates each lash. Sometimes I’ll even use a different mascara then use this afterwards to brush through my lashes. It also has incredible staying power – it may as well be waterproof. Plus it’s definitely got the best packaging out of the bunch.
