Experience a winter escape at The Croft Hotel
today I’m chatting about a winter overnight stay I had at The Croft Hotel. A newly refurbished country pub, hotel, and wedding venue. Situated on the outskirts of Darlington, UK.
This new venue boasts a comfortable and stylish place to stay. Whether that be to get married, stay for the night, or dine.
I was kindly gifted an overnight stay to check out all their stunning facilities. Including their elegant wedding venue and honeymoon suite. Oh and to sample their delicious food and drink menu.
From start to finish this place was just exceptional. It radiates a warm and cosy atmosphere where you feel right at home. With rustic fires on entry to the locally sourced cuisine and friendly service. It’s just what I’d expect after staying at a couple of their sister venues too.
The Croft Hotel describes itself as an elegant North Yorkshire wedding venue designed with top-notch amenities and services. Featuring a beautiful restaurant and bar serving delicious food. Offering an enjoyable stay for business or leisure.
Food At The Croft
We arrived on a snowy afternoon for lunch. Greeted by two raring fires – which was a lovely start to our experience. We looked at the festive lunch menu and ordered an Amstel and prosecco to start.
For the starter, we shared a baked garlic and rosemary camembert with homemade bread, balsamic and olive oil. Watch my Reel to see the goey cheese pull! For the main, I went for the Chicken Milanese. Which was crispy panko chicken breast with tomato and roquette salad with garlic herb aioli with balsamic dressing. The salad with feta cheese was insane. The best side salad I’ve had in a long while!
Bob went with the classic steak burger with homemade relish and chips. The lunch was delicious and washed down with a couple more alcoholic beverages.
The Croft has various seasonal menus with breakfast, Sunday lunch and al a carte. Take a look at the end of my Reel to see the breakfast we had the following morning too.
Before checking in, we decided to relax around the fire whilst it was snowing outside. What more do you want in winter?
The Croft Hotel Accommodation
When we headed to reception to check in we were surprised to hear we were staying in the honeymoon suite. This was lovely as we weren’t sure what room we’d be in! The suite had just finished being refurbished so we were one of the first couples to stay in that room.
It’s situated at the back of the hotel in a small courtyard in a quieter spot. Upon entry, we were greeted with a foilaged wall with mirrors and a very quirky interior. A huge queen-sized bed with a copper glass free-standing bath and pink-tiled bathroom!
Each venue at the Apartment group is spectacular and their accommodation is just perfect every time. The room was cosy and I thought it was just lovely for the newlyweds. I mean we went just after our 6 month anniversary so we kind of count right? I’d be very happy staying here if I got married there.
As you can imagine later on in the evening I had to have a hot bubble bath with a glass of wine!
Wedding Venue
Speaking about weddings I HAVE to talk about their wedding ceremony room. It is absolutely beautiful. I haven’t seen anything like it. When rustic meets modern. With LED fittings, Venetian plaster and wooden beam ceiling. Just look at the Juliet balcony too! Just out of this world. I’m very jealous of anyone who chooses this venue. We also got shown the bridal suite where the bridal party get ready for the big day.
We had a look in the reception room but it was getting prepped for a Christmas work’s party. So I couldn’t take any photos but the room was huge. It had its own dedicated bar and outdoor seating area so it was suited for any time of year. If you are still looking for your dream wedding venue and live around North Yorkshire, I’d certainly give The Croft Hotel a visit.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay. We had a very relaxing and comfortable experience and the staff were so friendly and tentative. We’re hoping to visit again in the summer!
