From the minute we arrived at Beech Hill Hotel, we knew we were in for a relaxing wind-down weekend. The 4 * hotel interior has such a cosy feel to it with tartan prints, dark oak fireplaces and glistening chandeliers.
Just a 5-10 minute ride from Bowness, Beech Hill is situated perfectly along the Lakeside and includes free parking – always a bonus.

We headed to our room and stayed in the Select suite. The hotel also gives you free access to their spa so we dropped our bags and spent a few hours in the pool and Jacuzzi before our evening meal.
Lakeview Spa

The Lakeview Spa had a luxurious feel with painted glass on the ceiling and the tiled steam room. Time just passed us by. It was lovely to take in the views of lake Windermere from the Jacuzzi, I can imagine it being so picturesque in the Summer. The spa also provides a range of treatments.
The only thing what was missing was a cold glass of Prosecco!
Burlington’s Restaurant

We are both such foodies so when our stay included a three-course meal at Burlington’s Restaurant, we were expecting great things. The restaurant again had great interior and the hospitality from the staff was perfection. From sitting down we felt like we were in for a right treat and all three meals were delicious.
The menu is A la Carte so for starter we got Crab salad and Wood Pigeon, for mains we opted for Chicken Supreme and Venison and for dessert, Sweet shots and Chocolate Brownie. We totally pushed the boat out and tried dishes a little out of our comfort zone.
We both agreed it was the best dining experience we’ve had in a while, if not ever. You can even just visit the restaurant if you’re not staying over.
Oh and our stay also included breakfast. The buffet included a variety of cereals, fruit and pastries as well as a classic fry up. The food was yummy and set us up for the day ready to see the sights around Bowness-on-Windermere.

Our weekend at Beech Hill was lovely. We both returned home feeling relaxed and ready to take on the week. If you’re visiting the Lake District sometime soon, its definitely worth driving a couple of miles out from Bowness and staying here. The quality of the food, spa and hospitality makes it superb value. A 4* hotel and fine dining experience for a great price, I’d definitely pay! I’ll be sure to visit next time I’m in Cumbria.
